Ramadan Projects

The projects of the holy month of Ramadan come to alleviate the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip,   that suffer from very difficult economic conditions because of wars and the siege imposed on it for more than ten years, that affected the lives of people.

Most of the sources of income for the Palestinian citizen in the Gaza Strip decrease at the same time, the rate of poverty and unemployment among the workers increased.

The situation has become more difficult and the poverty rate has increased , and there was deductions imposed on governmental employees and institutions operating due to lack of resources

It was therefore necessary for the Palestinian Orphan Home Association to take the responsibility  to draw a smile and pleasure to needy families during the month of Ramadan.

Preparation for the month of Ramadan

Preparation for the month of Ramadan always take place in two months  before Ramadan in two directions:

International: In order to seek fund and donation for  Ramadan begins, the Palestinian Orphans Home Association  starts  communication with international charity  organizations to inform them about the number of needy families, what aid is to be distributed during Ramadan, the cost of each project, the possibility of assistance in the project and the number of families that the supporting institution wishes to assist.

Locally: For families benefiting from the projects of the month of Ramadan

Meetings are held with the departments of the branches and they are urged to conduct a field survey for all areas of Gaza Strip according to conditions and specifications to be agreed upon and categorize the needy according to categories and need (e.g. needy families, families of orphans, families of the wounded, disabled families.

Implementing Ramadan projects through the branches of the Palestinian Orphans Home Association

Based on the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him),

“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to the people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or to remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt, or to feed his hunger. That I walk with a brother regarding a need is more beloved to me than that I seclude myself in this mosque in Medina for a month. Whoever swallows his anger, then Allah will conceal his faults. Whoever suppresses his rage, even though he could fulfill his anger if he wished, then Allah will secure his heart on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever walks with his brother regarding a need until he secures it for him, then Allah Almighty will make his footing firm across the bridge on the day when the footings are shaken.”

Ramadan campaign begins implementation of Ramadan projects at the end of the last two days of the month of Shaaban month and continue until the end of Ramadan to draw a smile on the faces of needy families  and enter joy to the poor families all over Gaza Strip. This includes:  the delivery of cash and in-kind aid to thousands of needy families, such are: (food parcels, vouchers, vegetables basket, flour, breakfast meals, sohoor meals, breakfast on the roads, , Zakaah money, zakaah , eid clothes)
