The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated places in the world. An area of less than 360 square kilometers is home of more than 2 million people. Suffering is deepening in Palestine as its economy continues to deteriorate and rising poverty levels and increasing environmental degradation exact a heavy toll, according to the latest statistics.

Gaza Strip, with a population of more than two million Palestinians, is on the verge of a real water and environmental catastrophe, as the salinity in the water is constantly rising, so the water is not suitable for human use.

Drinking water crisis is one of the most complicated problems in the Gaza Strip, especially with the scarcity of water resources. Due to the pollution and the negative impact on human health, many Palestinian citizens prompted to resort to buying desalinated water from private desalination plants that may have a relatively high price, especially in situation of the deteriorating economic situation of Palestinian families in general.

The current Israeli war on Gaza will result in an increase in unemployment and poverty rates, which imposes swift action after the ceasefire to save the economic and social conditions there, work to return life to its normal course, and alleviate the chronic problems suffered by the people of Gaza.

In light of the blockade of Gaza and the negative effect of Corona for the second year, the Strip does not need more economic and social pressures resulting from the Israeli attacks and their targeting of the destruction of infrastructure, as well as the demolition of residential buildings, workshops and factories.

There is no doubt that implementing charity projects for Gaza is of great importance and helps the poor and needy families a lot.

Project objectives and outputs

Contribute in providing safe drinking water for the local community in the Gaza Strip, especially for poor and needy families

Filling the needs of citizens with fresh drinking water.

Reducing the percentage of diseases caused by water salinity and pollution, and protect the health of citizens in the Gaza Strip.

Reducing the problem of water pollution in the Gaza Strip.

Reducing the economic burden on citizens as a result of  buying fresh water in condition of the difficult economic conditions that most of the population suffers from

Project budget

It equals $ 30 dollars (delivery of drinking water to one family -average number of members- for a period of 3 months)

Conclusion

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

A Muslim is the brother of a fellow-Muslim. He should neither commit oppression upon him nor ruin him, and he who meets the need of a brother, Allah would meet big needs, and he who relieved a Muslim from hardship Allah would relieve him from the hardships to which he would be put on the Day of Resurrection, and he who did not expose (the follies of a Muslim) Allah would conceal his follies on the Day of Resurrection.
