Palestinian Orphan Home Association has implemented 5 desalination plants powered by solar energy in different areas of the Gaza Strip, these desalination plants serve mosques, Islamic schools and also distribute potable water to thousands of poor and needy families.

The water salinity rate in the Gaza Strip is very high, so water is no longer suitable for human use, especially with the scarcity of water resources, which prompted many Palestinian citizens  to buying drinking water from private desalination plants, whose price may be relatively high.
